Saturday Chess Club

Saturday Chess Club now meets on the last Saturday of each month but please ring to book first.

Saturday club has a very friendly group of children, the youngest being just five but already not a bad player! We devote around half the time to formal coaching with the big Demo board, perhaps using a famous Grandmaster game to learn about different tactics and strategy.

The rest of the time we have mini-competitions and friendly games, we tackle chess puzzles, and sometimes try out variations such as Shotgun Chess and “4-player chess”. The many benefits for children can be found on the separate webpage. Please see links above.

£8 per 2-hour session
£27 for 4 sessions pre-booked (no need to run consecutively)
£20 per hour for one-to-one coaching
