Saturday Chess Club

Saturday Chess Club has just stopped for the summer break and is due to restart towards the end of the year. Please ring to book in due course.

Saturday club has a very friendly group of children, the youngest being just five but already not a bad player! We devote around half the time to formal coaching with the big Demo board, perhaps using a famous Grandmaster game to learn about different tactics and strategy.

The rest of the time we have mini-competitions and friendly games, we tackle chess puzzles, and sometimes try out variations such as Shotgun Chess and “4-player chess”. The many benefits for children can be found on the separate webpage. Please see links above.

£10 per 2-hour session
£20 per hour for one-to-one coaching
